Travelling Light

A cloud of metaphysics
would have us all in a fog
how to pick a credo
from suspiciously many
one should first feel the rain
to consider the tattoo

be humble
be charitable
work for the greater good

In the library's dim maze
tomes of infinite opinion
do not crush me
let the decision be mine
the lyric I return to
throughout the living diary

be humble
be charitable
work for the greater good

I too have a secret garden
we all know wonders there
but so much as a pebble
brought to the gate
shape-shifts and is lost
I aim to carry the day

be humble
be charitable
work for the greater good
