The Price of Liberty
The Others, we are told to fear,
they point at strange and different folk,
whose foreign tongues upon our streets,
and foreign food and foreign dress
might “dilute our Britishness”
as if it were an orange squash.
But evil is resident, not afar,
the enemy spread their fear and scares,
whilst warning us, look, foreign folk
have come to steal your homes and jobs,
forget they flee “Forever Wars”,
forget we've trashed all you held dear,
your NHS now on its knees,
your mental health that's in the bin,
look over there, at that failed state,
those terrorists (that we’ve armed for years),
the enemy is them, not us.
Their lies believed, their sins forgot,
we voted “CHANGE”, and change we got,
a target’s now upon our backs,
dissent from genocide’s a crime,
we’re now the enemy within,
our Liberty is in the bin.

No problem. I watched the Human Rights Lawyer videolink. I remember hearing the news on New Years Day 2008/2009. We were driving through the Alps, as friends. It was about a Gaza-bombing. I remember it made me really sad. During that trip we would listen to a CD by 'the Alan Parsons Project'. 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. Can you see the contrast?
Now The Alps are falling apart, quite literally. So we can't ignore them anymore!
If we were in a constant state of trauma, then perhaps we were also in a constant state of dissociation.
Let's leave it with that. I'm setting a boundary, for my own well-being.
Take care, Uilleam.
