Lost Soul

entry picture

I'm a lost soul
What is my life's role
The past I want to reserect
The present I can't respect
The future will take its toll
I'm a lost soul

Mammy and daddy where are you now
You left me to cope any old how
You raised me the best you tried
But empty inside on my pillow I cried
A family should be a sacred place
Why did I have tears on my face
I am a man now big and strong
where on earth did I go wrong

I'm a lost soul
My world is out of control
Got no desire or direction
Just want some love and affection
My broken heart you stole
I'm a lost soul

Now I am in the Autumn of existence
My spirit is broken  I have no resistance
Just when you think nirvana arrives
It's taken away what a surprise
I look around me at a world that is dying
War and slaughter women and children crying
I don't have the will to scream and shout
Be happy when it's time to check out

I'm a lost soul
What is my life's role
The past I want to reserect
The present I can't respect
The future will take its toll
I'm a lost soul

I'm a lost soul
What is my life's role
I'm a lost soul

Good morning Tom,
Your poem Lost Soul really spoke to me. The feelings expressed by the lyrical voice — the longing, the confusion, the deep emotional fatigue — are all things I deeply relate to. It felt as if someone had put into words what I’ve often felt myself but struggled to express.

You’ve given that lost, searching voice a shape and rhythm that’s both honest and haunting. Thank you for sharing something so moving and real. It reminded me that others wrestle with these same questions — and that, in itself, is a kind of connection.

Kind regards,
Rolph
