I Wish I Was There
I WISH I WAS THERE
By the Urban Poet
In a place where I can feel tranquil
Somewhere that’s out of the ordinary
Where love and understanding is bountiful
A location that’s scenic, extraordinary
I wish I was there
I need to be where I feel safe and well
In a place or situation that is right you know
Some places spell danger, you never can tell
A place with hope, optimism, ambition and so,
I wish I was there.
Maybe the answer is Naples or Rome?
Ibiza, Majorca, Ayia Napa or Gibraltar?
Make the Nordic Fjords or Antalya my home?
Settle down with someone and go to the altar?
I wish I was there
In my head it’s a place where fairies preside
Elves and Goblins appearing in dark of night
As I stumble upon their world they just hide
But even so it feels blissfully right
I wish I was there
I wonder, is there a place with no evil?
No wars, no starvation, or violence nor drugs?
Just people who want to be calm and peaceful
A place without sickness, diseases or bugs
Is it wrong to crave for this place all day long?
A place where it’s people sing the same song?
I wish I was there!
