Life is but a journey, a trip for me and you

Everything is fleeting, we’re all just passing through

No-one can contain it, none can make it last

Just know it’s at your fingertips, it’s limitless and vast

 

Appreciate each moment, they all whizz by so fast

Know that as it’s happening, it’s already in the past

It’s not a dress rehearsal, this is the real deal

There won’t be any sequels so go ahead and take the wheel

 

Go on, grab it, take it on – it’s yours just for the taking

Grab it with both hands before it starts evaporating

Take every opportunity, don’t let your life pass by

Why wait for tomorrow? Your time is going to fly

 

If you missed the starting gun, don’t worry it’s too late

Get ready for the next one, be ready at the gate

Jump on the roller coaster ride, with all its highs and lows

You’d better hold on tight though, ‘cos that’s just how life goes

 

It might well be a bumpy ride, you need to be equipped

Who knows what’s in store for you, have you planned your script?

You’re not just a spectator, you’re the writer-on-the-go

You’re producer and director, the star of your own show

 

None can see the future, it’s a mystery to all

What’s around the corner? A monumental fall?

We’re none of us infallible to cruel twists of fate

But each day we are breathing is a chance for a clean slate

 

So don’t limit your ambition, always follow your dreams

Do what makes you happiest, however daft it seems

Don’t focus on the trivia, let the small stuff go

Save energy for what matters, be positive and grow

 

Then if you’re really lucky and you reach a ripe old age

You’ll know you made the most of your moment on the stage

You won’t look back and kick yourself and think you failed the test

You’ll remember it with no regrets and know you did your best
