when this is over, as

one day it surely must,

and you begin to see

more clearly through

the settling dust,

a rubble panorama of

broken bloodied lives

a scene of futile conflict

where only fear and

hatred thrived,

one day you might sit quietly

alone, with all the soldiers gone

and allow yourself a grim

dawning thought of the

deeds that you have done
