To see must be to speak

See the crows with bloody beaks

that pluck the tongues

through which truth speaks

See the men with bloody tongues

that strike out truth

were e're it comes

See the scribes with words writ wrong

who care not where

their ink comes from

See the eyes that welcome blight

that fills their soul

yet steals their sight

See all this yet carry on?

you'll have no voice

when all is gone

At cruelty, sometimes, I'd sit and weep,
But now the time has come to stand and speak,
Lest when they've come for them, they come for me.

Thank you James,

I'm so pleased you saw the hope in this.

The repetetive use of the word "see" is intended to provoke the idea of action as opposed to mere spectating. With this juxtapose I had hoped to suggest the aspect of hope.

I am pleased you felt hope in this piece, as was my desire.

Beautifully crafted David, and I enjoyed your delivery immensely!!!

For what it's worth, although you paint a bleak image - I found your message hopeful (beleive it or not).

Let us find courage, and do what we can 😉

Absolutely Flyntland,

Take some kind of action, however seemingly so small use your voice.

I am genuinely grateful for your words, thankyou.

A strong poem with a sense of foreboding and a powerful warning to respond or disappear without trace.

"See the men with bloody tongues
that strike out truth
were e're it comes."

This poem is written with a heartfelt passion that chills the soul.
