Ms. Hush Hush
Hush hush
She started it,
With her forefinger placed as a guard in front of her lips.
She forbids my laughter from unraveling,
Commanding me to remain focused.
She tells me about ghosts,
She wants to catch one,
Hoping to have a friend among them.
Hush hush
She starts to speak again,
Still with her forefinger guarding her lips,
A sign to forbid me from laughing,
She talks as if spinning the world.
If you say a duck has two legs,
She will brush you off,
She’ll say, 'No, they have three, it’s part of nature's secret.’
Hush hush
Her words float like mist.
She says she fell,
Her main foundation is hurt, but luckily not broken.
She is the sharpest mind in the group,
Yet her steps often get tangled.
Every movement she has is a dance of joy,
Bringing laughter into bloom in everyone she meets.
Hush hush
Don’t give her praises to her face,
Her legs will stumble,
And she’ll be wounded right away.
She doesn’t quite know how to manage those feelings.
So, don’t tell her that I admire her,
I don’t want her to get hurt.
