At present I haven't a name for that yearly reappearing

and wonderfully scented shrub

that in winter is required to dwell subterraneously

preparing its beautiful self for yet another part in summers golden play

again reclothing itself in such an outstanding petalled costume  

that every discovering eye cannot but linger to sigh and breathlessly admire

 

and when seedling dreamings of its return to gilded days come to fruition

it is Mothering sun that will be waiting 

to share her life giving deliverances

with this and every other floral child of the earth
