on the surface the deed is done
and the deeper point is missed

From a series (painfully long) addressing an ongoing struggle for justice. It concerns the disgraceful blase attitude of the Dagenham and Barking police, and the families of four murdered men who have tried in vain to slap certain incompetent police officers awake.
The series will probably be titled 'Barking Pigs' as it has a ring to it but in normal life I'd never call the police 'pigs' or 'filth' or anything like that. In general the police manage a difficult job well but my faith in their effectiveness has been shaken by a group of bastards masquerading as police.
