Midnight Ride

I fended off the darkness with imaginary sword.

And I yelled at the moon and back at me it roared.

So I took to the streets, streets I couldn’t name.

Looking for something…anything I could blame.

My head was weary, loaded heavy with doubt.

The streets were deserted, no people were about.

My eyes were tearful, well that’s nothing new.

I strayed far from my home, still thinking of you.

The slowly passing hours were not on my side.

Emotions, tripped and slipped on my midnight ride.

How far I had travelled, I didn’t really care or know.

Distance means nothing, when there’s no place to go.
