"Call it a Night"

You won't find my soul in a box,

What a busy day I've been going through alot,

Hot or cold? can you predict the temperature?

Tempers flare temporarily, Trim the grass

the weeds are out of bounds, Coffee before work,

Argue with your famiy until it hurts,

Who's in charge to rearrange the standards?

Don't you go and charge towards the treasure,

Move your car please.. the driveway is packed,

Heres to being late for work, I offer small talk to co-workers,

When a couple hours drift I'll be back with my family,

Day dreaming during lunch time, The intrusive thoughts are at it      again, I might voyage to a different conclusion,

Amused by these temporary memes, 1 more hour left,

Last minute preparations, I just can't wait to call it a night, Like sap I stick to the trees, A cold brew will put me at ease, I return to my home, My favorite place, I kiss my wife hug all my kids, Movie night and tacos, Cherish every second, It time for bed, Lets call it a night.

Really good piece. Reminds that extraordinary poetry can be found in the most straightforward of places.

This poem is a good read, Michael. Dropping in to the poet's every day life, thoughts and emotions many people can relate to (family strife, hanging in during the work day, and most importantly, family love). Well done Michael!
