Raising Spirits

entry picture

He said it once

Never again

Now it's like a seance

To contact her man

Spirits appear

As soon as she speaks

A future so bright

Turning so bleak

Can she break the ice

Dropped into his whiskey?

Or call on the departed

(Far less risky)

Does he love her?

Yes-No-Yes

Definitely maybe

She'll just have to guess

So she raises a glass

Time for a toast

Here's to loving & leaving

She's marrying a ghost!

It was a lover and his lass,
did make the bed springs creak so;
of uisge baugh let’s raise a glass,
to Jimmy and that girl called Flo,
who furiously their mattress trashed,
that spring time, ho ho ho ho.
they went so fast they now have passed.
those lovers busted all the springs so,
hey ding a ding, ding, hey ding a ding, ding!

Apologies Ruth, possibly something to do with what I drank last night!
