Pause!

entry picture

Flags and placards round Big Ben

say

PAUSE! PAUSE!

Shouts and chants of Waddawewant?

PAUSE! PAUSE!

We call a pause on oil and then

we all lie down. We stand up again.

We shout demands at Parliament

to

PAUSE! PAUSE!

No new gas! No new oil!

PAUSE! PAUSE!

One point five degrees soon gone.

PAUSE! PAUSE!

Arctic in meltdown, blood on the boil,

weather systems in turmoil.

The fossil economy can’t go on,

we know it has to

PAUSE! PAUSE!

Silent rebels robed in red

mime

PAUSE! PAUSE!

Features blanked in white make-up

means

PAUSE! PAUSE!

To signify our sense of dread

we all lie down, pretend we’re dead,

whistle blows, we all stand up

it was just a

PAUSE! PAUSE!

What can stop extremes of weather?

PAUSE! PAUSE!

We call out for a voluntary

PAUSE! PAUSE!

Sixty thousand march together

dressed in costumes, fur and feather,

some have snouts and some have hairy

PAWS! PAWS

Oil is evil! Why don’t they ban it?

or

PAUSE! PAUSE!

We shout demands all over town

to

PAUSE! PAUSE!

Pause before we kill our planet.

Numbers of living species plummet.

Two degrees and we all lie down.
