Lines

I’ve always been told to

Color inside the lines.

Ever since I was little, it was always

Fit into the box.

                                                Don’t rock the boat.

Stay in your little corner and

Don’t come out.

They said, “keep your colors neat.”

But my darling, you can’t be beat.

Make a scene. Do your thing.

You can color outside the lines.

                                                So scribble out your anger

                                                                                                On this blank white page.

They can’t tell you who you can and can’t be.
