Healing

The day before the dawning,

Spirit did its preparations,

opening hearts,

softening minds.

The day before the dawning,

the Grandmothers said their prayers,

fingering beads,

chanting before altars.

The day of the dawning

arrived crisp & clear,

with a promise of rain,

but not yet.

Before the sky could open up

& cry in relief,

some things needed to get sorted.

On the day of the dawning,

one Suffering One went to a healing place,

another moved her roof to another location.

They made these big changes when they were ready.

This is how things work.

The Grandmothers merely offered up choices,

the Grandmothers called upon Spirit & never gave up hope.

This is how things work.

The day after the dawning,

it rained & rained & rained.

And the Earth

& the Grandmothers

& the Suffering Ones

gave thanks.

I think women are more generally spiritual and perceptive than their male counterparts. Church congregations reflect this with a preponderance of women. Grandmothers are people who are more accepting of life's trials and this poem speaks well of them.
Thank you for this
