There is a feast of poetry events over the next few days at Chapel FM arts centre in Leeds, which will also be broadcasting its Writing on Air festival over the radio. Tonight, Wednesday 23 November, Chapel FM director Tony Macaluso is in conversation with Peepal Tree Press founder Jeremy Poynting at 7.30pm, with a performance of Seni Seneviratne’s poems inspired by her father’s war service as a radio operator at 8.30pm.

On Thursday at 9pm Queer House Party showcases the best queer poetic talent. On Friday 25 November at 5.30pm there’s a workshop about performing on stage, with Caitlin McKenna, pictured, looking at microphones, hosting, and audience engagement. On Sunday 27 November at 4pm writers from the Sunday Wordship workshop with Mark Connors and Gill Lambert read their work; at 5pm Ian Harker, William Thirsk-Gaskill and Joe Williams offer a whirlwind poetry tour of Leeds on the Poetry Supertram; and at 6pm new and established writers from Yaffle Press read their work.
