Heatwave Advice

The weather maps are glowing
shades of purple, orange and red
It’s hotter than Barbados
and many parts of the Med

During the heatwave this week
previous records will be beat
The news is full of advice
how to keep safe in the heat

Go out early in the morning
or late evening is best
Apply sunscreen, wear a hat
and be appropriately dressed

Stay indoors or in the shade
in an attempt to keep cool
Drink lots and lots  of fluids
is another basic rule

Protect those most vulnerable
from overheating threats
Leave water for the wildlife
take extra care of your pets

There’s so much to think about
you may think it’s quite a pain
But it’s only for two days
then the forecast turns to rain

So enjoy it if you can
before the thunderstorms arrive
If we take the advice given
hopefully we will all survive
