as they jostle for every vote
Pointing out the faults of each other 
revelling in each mismanaged quote 

Waiting for the right moment to strike  
like a cat waiting to catch it's prey 
Finding fault with each other’s pledges
criticising what each other say
 
Rallying for the most supporters 
those with the least losing their place 
When there are two competitors left 
they go head to head in the final race 

When all the backstabbing is over
the slanging matches lost and won
With the new PM in place 
there will be some making up to be done
