Aphrodite's Blushes

The way the sunlight washes over your skin

Brings thoughts that would make

Even Aphrodite blush

Your smile full of warmth

The crinkle of your eyes

That shadow of doubt

When you breathe

Out ...

The raise of the eyebrows

Reveal even yourself ...

You surprise

Aphrodite weaves spells

Thoughts I cannot dispel

Beholden to a beauty so bright

It outshines ‘Helen’

Who pales in your light

A thousand ships

Are not enough

Nothing compares to your lips

Nor the curve of your hips

She could never imagine

Such overwhelming passion

I would spare her blushes

If only I could …

Are you a gift?

A gift from heaven?

Our bodies entangled

As our Lips entwine

Surely, we have been touched

By the divine?

Hush, did you hear her?

I’m sure I saw Aphrodite

I saw her blush!

Don’t worry my love

There’s no need to rush

Let’s take our time

She is quite content

To take her lessons

From us.

Thanks Stephen. I had fun writing it. You never know where the pen will take you.
Thanks to everyone that took the time to press the like button - it's always much appreciated. I never know where things are going, or how they will be received. I'm glad to know there are some like minded people out there. 😀

This fizzes and gushes, Clare. Good one.
