WHERE THEY LOVE THE BIRMINGHAM ACCENT

On the subject of coffee houses

I find the Starbucks at Walsall very good

original in many ways

residing in a Birmingham Bauhaus style building

nestling enticingly off of a popular roundabout

near the ring road

you get the picture.

The serving style is second to none

and the staff have an almost come hither look

which reflects their desire to please,

and please they do - whether it is with calorie busting frapuccinos

or skinny lattes and there is always

a perfect flotilla of snacks and munchables as accompaniment

you get the picture.

For that special day out I would thoroughly recommend it

where on a whim or a visit with friends

there is nothing of the roar of greasepaint about,

it is pleasingly subtle with tableware to die for,

uncluttered and with mini vases of spray flowers

on every table, you get the picture

I can't speak for other Starbucks

but I will continue to patronize this glory of the suburbs

where they beautify the bean and always say "enjoy"

man and boy.  I even made a joke I felt so relaxed

saying "who earns the most, a Barrister or a Barista?"

no offence taken, just a raised eyebrow

and a hint of venting steam, and it's not a dream,

you get the picture. .

Sublime, Ray. It could even convert me to Starbucks (well, perhaps not). Birmingham Bauhaus - I'll have to read up on that.

I've never been to Walsall but a few years ago I posted an anti-Brexit poem on line and was heavily criticised by someone called '52% and proud of Walsall.' The red wall was rising.
