Will You Come And Hold Me

entry picture

Will you come and meet me?

When I get to heaven,

Will you come and find me?

I’m afraid to go

But I know you’re there,

Will you come and find me?

It's not been easy,

No cure-all for a broken heart,

Will you come and love me?

I think every day

About my love for you,

Will you come and love me too?

I’ve missed you,

Sought-after through sorrowed tears,

Will you come and hold me?

I held onto precious memories

When I wore younger boy's clothes,

Will you come and hold me?

I’m sorry if I upset you

With the actions of my youth,

Mother, will you please forgive me?

Determined to fill you with pride,

I’m sorry if I missed the mark,

Mother, will you please forgive me?

Present days are tough,

Tougher than they ought to be,

Will you come and guide me?

I wish you were here

Advising me like you once did,

Will you come and guide me.

I’m not quite ready to leave,

Not just yet, but soon,

Will you please wait for me?

I should say goodbye

Before leaving in a hurry,

Will you please wait for me?

We will be together,

My heart assures me,

Will you please wait for me?

Time in eternity ticks slowly

With you, it’ll seem but a moment,

Will you find me?

Will you forgive me?

Will you guide me?

Will you love me?

Will you hold me?

Please hold me.

You hold me close,

I will hold you closer,

Till heaven shutters our eyes.
