An appeal to Russian mothers on Mothers Day

Ask mothers what is the most precious thing in their life,

I am sure they will say, first being a mother and then a wife.

Since the beginning of the war 16000 children in Ukraine will have been born,

Many under the concrete ceiling of a dark basement, feeling forlorn.

Thousands of young Russian men as soldiers are sent to fullfill,

The ambitions of an eratic leader to devastate and kill.

Children who have been barely allowed to breathe,

After a few hours on this earth are made to leave.

Russian mothers on Mothers Day I appeal to you,

Be aware what your sons and husbands are being forced  to do,

Use your powers on Mothers Day,

To make this Putin plague go away.

Oh what lucky mothers to have you. You are a credit to them! Can't say anymore, have to make sure the war ends. A woman's work is never done!😂😂😁

Hugh, if only the women you speak of had the power. Truth is, many women only have power that men allow them and it is taken away when men choose. I realise this may be unpalatable to some, but this is my belief.

Ursula O'reilly. I think we are meant to flutter our eyelashes and use our feminine wiles!😂

For God's sake! Is this another attempt to make women responsible for the actions of men? It is NOT the first wish of every woman to be a mother and wife! For fxxx sake, how do you expect them to use their powers to influence their men in a war? Or have you just posted this to inflame an already over focused topic?
READ Claire's response. Brave men and women fighting and surviving this war.. Well said, Clare. I don't intend to waste any more energy on this stupid topic.

You could also ask them to help the 30 000 women on the frontline. 15% of the Ukranian army comprise of women. There are also thousands of women fighting in resisitance groups. Not to mention those who are involved in logistics, and the numerous other roles demanded of them when a country is at war. Well written piece with an interesting thought process. Thanks for sharing.
