Now that I am old
I wish that I could talk to them again
just one more time
and take the time to listen
Now that I am old
I wish I could ask them
about their lives
and write down their stories
Now that I am old
I wish I could sit down with them
and for once listen
knowing now all they said was true
Now that I am old
I wish I could just
hold their hands
and beg for their forgiveness.

I know how this feels.. I'm old too but my nephews are young. I sometimes wonder what will become of me I've made so many mistakes. 😓
