It’s A Rich Man’s World (Or Is It)

A slightly amended version of Money, Money, Money from August 2020

I bet all of you
wish you could be me
Perched high and mighty
master of the sea
I look down on those poor souls
who have not
From the swish pool
aboard my mega yacht

I bet all of you
wish you could be me
I can have anything
I want you see
Anything money can buy
I can choose
I win at life but….
I can afford to lose

I made a small fortune
from drilling soil
And made many billions
from trading oil
I spend my money
on important things
Jets, cars, yachts
and diamond studded bling

I surround myself
with the best in life
Model girlfriends
an understanding wife
I gift tokens of love
priceless treasure
Small gestures like these
buys me endless pleasure

I bet all of you
wish you could be me
I have everything
I could need you see
The press pay good money
for a photo or two
A photo with me
could be the making of you

I bet all of you
wish you could be me
I mix in the right circles
amongst royalty
I party with the rich
and those who found fame
Don't ask me who
I can't remember their name

When the party is over
and I’m alone
Bottle of finest in hand
slumped on my throne
I wonder what I can’t buy
with all my wealth
Peace, love, happiness, respect, trust, wisdom and health
