Fear And Dread
Words I heard on the news last night
as I watched from the comfort of my bed
“Today sirens wail in deserted streets
............that echo fear and dread”
I didn’t need to open my eyes
I could see the images in my head
I didn’t need to see the haunting scenes
that accompanied the words she said
The courage of the Ukraine people
is reported each moment of each day
Due to the bravery of news reporters
the truth is brought to us this way
