Snowflakes

"Everything dies in the winter but snowflakes"

I was always a Summer boy,

Craving when the sunshine made love to my melanin.

Hot showers against my back; thick covers cradling me to sleep.

Autumn colors gave way to December's frostbites

Gnawing at my thoughts time after time,

Leaving nothing but dead memories.

So when your snowflakes brought me warm touches,

I wanted Winter to last forever.

I wanted everything to stay dead but you and me- and I still do.

But Spring will always come to melt us away for Summer's mist.

And it turns out everything does die in the Winter.
