Council workers lifted up cars with a crane,

To paint double yellow lines on a previously  unrestricted lane.

One by one they lifted each car up and down,

Parking tickets issued incited a communal frown  !!

 

Shortly after the council workers had completed painting the lines,

As an unfortunate coincidence, parking wardens arrived in the area and issued fines.

Numerous £70 fines the traffic wardens did deal,

"We are sorry this happened and encourage each recipient to appeal."
