it always remains
when losing gain
and retaining its pulse
pain
comes in chain
comfortably invades
and keeps you sad
never retain
but contain
its onslaught
without being caught

These lines remind us of the reality that is endured in life - for
some a daily cruel companion. I understand that the first
rule in medicine is "do no harm". Perhaps it should be joined
by "relieve suffering".
