was the old woman a ghost too?

 

boys decided they

should report to the sheriff

that the old lady had died

 

they went to his office

and told him

 

how do you know she died

sheriff said

we rode our bikes by her house

and through her window saw

her dancing with a ghost

boys said

 

sheriff gave a quizzical look

said he would investigate

boys left and went home

 

next day the sheriff reported

he had checked

she must have died at

least a month ago

according to the decomposed body

 

boys suddenly realized

they had seen both the

ghost of the old woman

and the ghost of her husband

dancing in the upstairs window

 

but where did the music

that the couple waltzed

to come from

who turned on the light in

the upstairs window

 

they did not ride past

her house again
