I woke up to wonderful news
regarding OperationArk
The government have listened to reason 
and stepped up to the mark

Pen Farthing, his staff and animals
should soon be safely on their way
The country waits for further news
in hourly updates throughout today

Yesterday I posted on Twitter
someone should start a petition 
I chose to start one of my own
I was surprised by my decision 

Once posted I felt so anxious
not sure if I had done the right thing
I very nearly deleted it
then a few signatures did spring 

By the kindness shown on Twitter
my petition received 30,000 signs
There is much support for this cause
in these most harrowing of times

Thank you to all who took time to sign
and for the kindness you have shown 
I wish Pen, his team and animals 
all the best for their journey home
