Mandarin

I love, many things.

I love Mandarins,

And Pagolins,

And Emperors.

But what’s a Mandarin?

Just a duck you say?

Well you’re right

An Emperor's a penguin

And a Pagolin's a Pagolin

But to me it’s not just a duck

It’s a Mandarin.

You don’t have to look to see all the world's Mandarins

They come and they leave with you just looking at them

Noticing nothing

I saw them but noted nothing

Till I learned that they were Mandarins

Now I love all kinds of Mandarins

Mandarins that fly, and run, and talk to me everyday

Because a duck is not a Mandarin

Anything you see that you didn’t see before

Is a Mandarin

A personal perspective to be sure, but also a pointer towards
seeing and valuing things for their intrinsic worth to us.
