Doc Lincoln

Doc Lincoln was
a sharecropper man
worked dawn to dusk
on poor black-land

hard row to hoe
cotton picked by hand
still he endured
a proud black man

shared work the rule
no difference when
mules pull the plow
all work as friends

both black and white
were equal men
when existence was
the common end.
