Glasgow

entry picture

My first visit to Glasgow
and what a pleasant surprise
A sprawling Scottish city
that is a treat for the eyes

Built beside the River Clyde
with a varied history
Once was the British Empires
second largest city

We took an open top bus
hop on, hop off city tour
A great way to get around
to see the sights and explore

Many magnificent structures
a mix of old and new
The space ship and armadillo
the chosen nick names for two

Well worth a visit
a Victorian Cemetery
The Necropolis
with views far beyond the city

Glasgow is most famous
for it's architecture and whisky
And now I know why
it's named the worlds friendliest city

I was surprised too, Julie, when I spent time working there. Like Liverpool, it is an architectural secret.

I knew you'd like it in Glasgow, Julie. I've been once, but need to go for a proper visit.
