Escape Room

entry picture

A short walk today
led us to a shaded dell
Where lay a vibrant carpet
of fragrant bluebell

Following the narrow path
treading carefully
Down to the shallow stream
beside the fallen tree

So peaceful, calm and still
no one else to be found
The gentle burbling brook
rhythmic hypnotic sound

Close my eyes and breathe
take a moment to unwind
Keep this image safe
the escape room in my mind

I love the title and its link to the last line. And the rest, of course!

Thanks for the likes, Hugh, Aviva and JD. Thanks also for your generous and kind comments JD, thank you for taking the time to look at some of my early posts on WOL. I had a quick look just now and it seems I posted quite a few on my first visit. Can't believe it is nearly my first anniversary of joining.

Very nice Julie, I was overcome with peace and serenity when I let the words carry me away. The pic really set the mood. Thanks again for your contributions, love it. P.S. I read some of your old poems from May of 2020 when looking up the first Bluebell Woods poem. Wow, so many poems since then. Thank-you, J.D.
