"What?" a masterful interview by Oprah Winfrey, opening up the hearts of Meghan and Harry

The interview was televised on Women's Independence Day,

When Meghan and Harry had their say.

They spilled the beans in a jaw dropping interview,

Bombshell after bombshell we began to view.

Meghan just didn't want to live she did report,

She felt controlled,trapped without support.

Her mental health was way below the norm,

A wet and windy interview which started a storm.

When you are a lighter shade of black

Are you more likely to suffer an attack ?

Meghan couldn't open up her heart for fear of the press,

Meghan instantly needed aid to get her out of the mess.

Meghan has been embraced by the American press,

Their move from England supressed the stress.

Trauma and worry has been pushed to the side,

So have her thoughts of suicide.

Suicide is like a fire which spreads to the brain,

Let's hope she won't be trodden on again.

Secrets have come out which have  shocked the nation,

Two weddings in the interview, one revelation.

Meghan was not prepared for Palace life,

And the protocol of becoming a royal wife.

Harry was worried about what might come,

Didn't want a repeat of what had happened to his mum.

Major bridges need to be rebuilt,

To avoid our monarchy to seriously wilt,

Get together and sort things out,

And put behind us what has come about.

The dewy eyed doe-like "pity me" look employed by Meghan reminded me of Diana when giving that interview to a certain
BBC reporter years ago. Odd how a couple that couldn't cope
with UK media publicity choose to use US media to provide their
version of what they apparently seemed intent on avoiding here.
The Crown is an institution that has survived worse than this - but
for it to have taken place when HM The Queen has so much to deal with at her great age represents a very low blow to The Firm and
will, I fear, haunt Prince Harry's reputation in the years to come. .
