If I hold your hand would people stare?
Would some tongues wag at such a pair?
But should we even care at what they say?
As no barriers should ever stand in our way.

Some people might talk behind our back.
Because an understanding of love they lack.
People will eagerly do sums in their head.
But should we worry what's thought or said?

Friends will ask questions who only mean well.
But we can reply with a great love story to tell!
People should listen and try to understand.
That age shouldn't matter if I take your hand.
