Dog Stars

I hate the sun

without you here

I wish the moon

could still see you too

I can forgive the stars,

if they’d let me see you there

Maybe tomorrow though

they may need some time

Canis Major perhaps;

you always loved animals

That’s where I’ll look for you

in the midnight sky

Better to do it then

so you won’t see my tears

May be an image of sky, nature and tree

Powerfully poignant words Mike.

Thought the piccy was great too.

Altogether an emotional roller coaster.

Thank you for sharing your words.

Thank you Aviva! I wrote this for my mother after she passed to help keep my grief at bay. It did help a bit.

Cheers

This poem tells so much, makes me feel so much too.
Behind the words seems to be that you both loved each other very much. The sky really will be watching over you from now on.
