The Wheel Of Lockdown

entry picture

Like a hamster on a wheel
around and around I go
These Groundhog days
my time passes by so slow

Nothing much changes
Every day the same news
Nothing much happens
Every day the same views

Nothing much is said
Every day the same talk
Nothing much to do
Every day the same walk

On the wheel of lockdown
around and around I go
Going nowhere fast
my pace is tired and slow

Each day may be long
there may be far to go
Each turn of the wheel
may be long and slow

Each glimpse of the future
keeps me on the right track
Each step on the wheel
moves me forward not back

I love the way the last verse finishes on an optimlistic note. Yes, there is hope.....

Last year I remember writing:

The virus, apogee of crime,
Lengthens our days but steals our time
