I Preferred Yesterday’s Walk

A damp and dismal walk today

muddy footpaths mapped our way

Some friendly faces to be found

along the river, our usual walk around

A thick blanket of cloudy grey

laying heavy and low on this dreary day

A constant mist of drizzly rain

fell in puddles, tickled down the drain

Following tracks of boots and paws

yesterday’s snowy ice slowly thaws

We stopped briefly for a quick chat

talk of lockdown and this and that

Again at home with a cup of tea

I think to myself, how lucky are we?

Count the calories we haven’t burned

finish the cream cakes we haven’t earned

Thank you MC, no mask but it was very brief, outside and at 2 metre distance. Thanks for the likes Greg, MC and JD.
What a difference a day makes to a walk and a blog entry!

An enjoyable rural ramble in suitably rhythmic stepping time.
But there is one question I must ask
Was your chat carried out from behind a mask? ?
