I'm scouse as can be, Michael my name.
I was born above an 'offy' in Derby Lane.
My Mum's large family lived on 'the farm'
Money was short, but it did us no harm.

My Dad, he left us, something was wrong.
So my Mum took over, a woman so strong.
We moved a lot, saw tough times through.
Then settled in Lee park, with a great view!

In 64' an addition to our family, a little Sis!
I loved having a baby sister to hug and kiss!
In 65', it was in Attlee House, 6 floors up.
I saw Liverpool win their very first FA Cup!

I remember a blue mobile would ring a bell.
And loose ciggies to the kids, it would sell!
I got myself a paper round, every weekend.
'Auntie' Vi became a lifelong, loving friend.

I loved our new home, way up in the sky.
From Lee Park chippy, a fish supper to buy.
I met my first love, her name I can't recall!
But I did write it upon Attlee House wall!

By The Nook a 'haunted house' we found.
Years later, it was part of my postie round!
We tormented the poor caretaker every day!
I made my first Holy Communion in O.L.A

But as a family of 4, we needed more space.
So in 68' it became time to find a new place.
We dreamed of a big garden all of our own.
That's what I got, in my new Dovecote home!

(To be continued with a sad ? ending) xx
