Pictures Of You

Just the one room, just these four walls.
The weather is bleak, as the winter  calls.
For normality I crave, but when is it due?
Promises I ignore as they never come true.

Plans and dreams all stalled and delayed.
Put on hold, all the decisions once made.
This is no way to live, what's next in store?
The uncertainty is wrecking lives for sure.

Into deep depression, I fear people will sink.
Cut off from society, too much time to think.
Just the one window, with just the one view.
No hugs and kisses, just my pictures of you.

How easy it is
for us to slip.

How hard it is
to hold onto only words.

When all we crave
is someone else's touch.
