Pictures of Liverpool

Early today, a Scouse sunrise greeted me.
I took a lovely picture for all the world to see.
But why stop there, a decision I was to make!
So more pics of Liverpool I decided to take!

To start, I made my way to Sefton Park lake.
And what a lovely picture that was to take!
Dazzling sun rays on a calm lake, ripple free.
Through my lens, it looked so beautiful to me.

Then to Anfield, still with a camera of course!
I saw a statue of Bob Paisley and 'crazy horse'
What a snap I took of this superb work of art!
Two legends of our club, forever in our heart.

I crossed Stanley Park, a picturesque scene.
And at Goodison snapped a pic of Dixie Dean.
Another fabulous statue, in homage to a great.
To see his record broken will be a lengthy wait!

Pictures of our two Cathedrals I had to include.
Vastly contrasting in structure, style and mood.
Different they may be in every conceivable way.
But as photographs, both equally fantastic today!

William Brown Street, then my next port of call.
A street where splendour, oozes from every wall!
A time check and not much left on the clock!
Quickly I took pics of our amazing Albert Dock.

Finally to the Pier Head, our famous old city port.
More timeless images of beauty I forever caught.
Another statue, this time of a world famous band.
So proud that these lads are from my homeland!

Next I took a pic of the Mersey, while in full flow.
While above me the sun was slowly losing its glow.
On the river crossed a ferry stirring up some foam.
I took a picture of that famous ferry as it sailed home.

Time to go home now, I think I've achieved my goal.
And only one picture remaining on my camera roll.
I took the last one as night fell, as that time was due.
I took if of the Liver Birds...and that was lovely too!
