The Truth In Hot Sudden Tears

Out of the blue they appeared

Composure broken, cast adrift

Lately she'd been evading me

My questions got short shrift

Nature can only take so much

Secrets discompose its skills

So long we had been at odds

Life an endless battle of wills

We had survived enough wars

Love adrift on waves of years

But nothing prepared me for

The truth in hot sudden tears

What emerged hit like a storm

Affairs, encounters, short flings

Soon followed by justifications

My coldness and other things

We had survived enough wars

Love adrift on waves of years

But nothing prepared me for

The truth in hot sudden tears

Moved by her belated honesty

Provoked at last to come clean

I revealed my serial infidelities

But my secrets had been seen

We had survived enough wars

Love adrift on waves of years

But nothing prepared me for

The truth in hot sudden tears

She'd reacted to my betrayals

With adventures of her own

But could stand it no longer

The pain my wrongs had sown

We had survived enough wars

Love adrift on waves of years

But nothing prepared me for

The truth in hot sudden tears

Now we talk about matters

Open to each others flaws

I'm told of her seedy affairs

Mine flow without a pause

I like this Simon and I love the title/repeated phrase.

There might be one too many 'chorus' parts for me but otherwise, really good.
