Time To Say Goodbye

The time is here again, the time to say goodbye

I put on my brave face and try my best not to cry

The end of leave with your father and mother

Time for you to return to your band of brothers

We share a quick hug as I hold back the tears

Take deep breaths, well practised over the years

I wish you safe travels and I blow you a kiss

Your face and cheeky grin I am going to miss

I manage a smile and a wave as you drive away

I know you have work to do and you can not stay

A cup of tea in my hand, I switch on the radio

Bring Him Home plays on the Michael Ball Show

Once again my eyes fill and swell with salty tears

Another deep breath, well practised over the years

Thank you for the likes. It is always difficult to say goodbye and Bring Him Home didn’t help.

Thanks for the like Eric.
Brian, was it the price of the paint that brought a tear to your eye?
