William Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage at Grasmere reopened to the public on Saturday 15 August for the first time since lockdown, although you need to pre-book your visit. The Wordsworth Trust is also unveiling a new feature in the garden behind the cottage – a ‘moss hut’, a reimagined shelter designed and built by Charlie Whinney  in the style of a similar one that Wordsworth built as a place to read, write, socialise and enjoy the view of Grasmere. Dove Cottage will be open from 10am to 5.30pm, Saturday to Wednesday. The new and expanded museum is due to open in spring 2021. More details
