On Hutton Roof Crags, high and dry

Harsh landscape for this lonely tree

Backdropped against the bluest sky 

Battered, barren and windswept 

Brittle branches, unruly and bare 

Trunk twisted, gnarled and angry

An old witch, messy twigs for hair
