Flowing deep, fast and furious

The River Lune is racing, raging 

Frothing, white wild water rapids

Showing no sign of easing, abating

 

Surrendering to the angry force

Old Tree trunks are submerging

Breaking the rivers new pathway 

The menacing torrent is surging 

 

Swelling deeper and ever deeper 

The River Lune water level rising 

Worrying locals watch from afar

Safety concerns are not surprising 

 

Hoping the storm will pass on by 

The rainfall will soon be depleting 

Facing the force of nature’s wrath

Devils Bridge takes a heavy beating

 

Slowing rainfall, brings relief to all

The river level is now regressing

Praying the bridge will stand strong

God rewards with mothers nature’s blessing
