C:\ for the brain

C:\ for the brain

I tried to log on

I tried to be there

But my synapse

Told me always beware.

I glared at the

C:\ and it flashed back

User unknown

Reenter again.

I scanned for virus

And found a dozen

macafee for the mind

That’s why I’m blood blind

I tried the C:\ prompt

Once again

Looking for something

That wasn’t disdain.

But the wires

Were crossed

Within my brain

Something to reach for

Something to gain

But just green lines

Flashed through my brain

User unknown once again

The flashes brought me pain

As my brain stared back

Showering disdain!

All I saw was C:\ looking at me.

Unplug and reboot

That’s what they say

But I can’t make memories

Go away.

250 megabytes

Should be enough

It lets my brain

Play Doom with disdain.

I scratched my face

Taking a risk

Trying to insert

That floppy disk.

I entered my name

But all I got

Was pixel disdain

And that was my brain down the drain.
