Titanium Butterfly

If I had a single ounce of your bravery
A single ounce of your strength,
I could move mountains.
To struggle and to persevere
When those around you fall.
To be thrown to the ground
And beaten and abused
And still you find the courage
To stand tall, to strive to rise above it all.

You can find the perfect words,
Set the perfect tone and, hidden in shadows,
You let the world glimpse your soul.
So fly high, strong but fragile butterfly
And let them see your dazzling colours
Show their God, their fate, their life
That they cannot snap your gossamer wings
No matter how they try.

And though my words can never be enough
Can never truly capture the message I have to send
They're all I have and all I can offer
To say how much I'm enriched, enlivened, made better
By having you as a friend
